Witches Treat

What goes into a witches treat, a little salt and a little beet
Insides of cucumber, eye of potato, hair of broccoli, blood of tomato
Eye of bat and skull of dog, spleen of goat and lounges of hog
Spine of dog and lounges of cat, tail of sheep and heart of bat
Heart of human, toe of doll, eye of gator, blood of all
That’s what goes in a witches treat, come on in, let’s have this feast

Bully Protection

If you encounter a bully, then the best thing to do, is try to talk things out

But sometimes that won’t always work out

And if that does not work and you know aikido,

You can do that, to defend yourself
Or if you’re like me, try showing them your scar

If any of these work, then that is a great start

But if non of these end up working out

Then go to a parent or a teacher, or an older friend or a sibling

Then they can help you work these things out

You can always go to someone whose older

Whenever you need help working things out

Feeling Free In This Community

Sometimes we think we are one thing

As time moves on we realize we were wrong

The more we think about these things

The more we figure out them for ourselves

These thoughts and feelings can happen when you’re young

Or they can happen as you grow, whenever in life this happens

Your world lights up and starts to glow

It can feel like fireworks appear and then everything is clear

This is who you were meant to be, and now that it’s clear you can be free

If you feel like you cannot be free, come along and join me

We’ll meet people just like you, and then you’ll no longer feel blue

There are people like you and me, come and join this community

Where we all are happy and free, and we are one big family

Invisible Disabilities

When you look at me, what do you see? A pretty girl, walking down the street,

Well then you’re right, but that’s not all, there’s more to me, come and listen y’all

Here’s a fact, you might not believe,

I have died twice, yes indeed,

Now you might be thinking,

that ain’t the truth, well it is,

And it happened during my youth

The first time was at nine days old,

and the second at two years old,

My heart stopped and I stopped breathing, my heart works now

And my story you shall be receiving

I was born with Hypoplastic

Left Heart Syndrome you see,

HLHS for short which means that

the left side of my heart I never received

I have had three open heart surgeries

to fix this disease,

The first surgery was at two weeks old and the surgeries worked with ease

I also have Exotropia

and have had four eye surgeries,

Because in the first

they moved the wrong muscle,

So they had to do three more

to fix their kerfuffle,

So now I wear glasses to see

without any trouble

I can’t look at one thing,

with both eyes at once,

But I can look at two different things, with each eye a bunch

I also have is a scar with keloids on it,

I wish this weren’t the case oh darn it,

Another thing that’s up with me,

is that my immune system

does not work properly

The last thing that I have,

is a rare chromosomal anomaly,

called Jacobsen Syndrome

JS for short, which means that

I’m missing 35 out of 20,000 genes,

In the tail of my chromosome 11,

thank you for giving this song

your full attention

This last disease is why,

I have all my other medical conditions and why I have some cognitive issues, thanks again for listening,

I hope that this song

didn’t give you the blues

Remembering Song

I keep trying to remember this song

There are some parts I think I remember but I could be wrong

I can remember some lines and a melody, but I can’t recall the name of this song

Here is the part of the song, which I remember night and day long

Hosanna hosanna and blessed is he

He comes here for you and he comes here for me

He comes in the name of the lord

Does anyone else know this fun song? Can anyone figure out where it belongs?

Does anyone know what it’s about? Can anyone help me figure this out?

Or is it just me who can recall? Does this sound familiar to you at all?
